Next morning we went into Monument Valley. The park is actually not part of the National Parl System, because it is on Navajo land, and of course they want to make some extra money with charging a modest entry fee ($5 per car) and with a new hotel and a campground, as well as Jeep tours. With vehicles up to 25 feet (ours was 24ft!) you are actually allowed to do the drive on the dust road yourself. I think ours was the only RV down there, and it was a pretty rattly rough track at times ;-) The road is a loop around the valley, and takes about 2-3 hours. Following are some of the many photos we took, and of course you can imagine John Wayne and colleagues riding around here all the time...
